The Key Competencies - Reflection

The key competencies are the five keys to success.I’m going to write about what key competencies I am good at four but I’m not good at one.The key competencies help us in Reading , Writing , Maths and Inquiry.Especially on the mat when we are conferencing with the teacher.

I am good at  Managing self which is using my manners, Using, symbols, language and text that is speaking the right way and always putting my best effort into my work, Relating to Others is showing empathy and Participating and contributing I alway put my hand up and give my answers.

I need to get better at thinking about what I say when I say it though.Sometimes I automatically say something when I don’t need to. In order for me to improve thinking I will start to think about what I say before I say it.

I am great at Managing myself , using language , symbols, and texts, Relating to Others and Participating and Contributing.However, I need to improve on Thinking about what I say before I say it.What key competencies are you good at?

Why should you learn to swim

Health

Swimming is healthy for you because it helps your body and heart.

Plus its healthy exercise so your fit and healthy.Your health is very important for your body.

Survival

imagine a sunami  and you drown and can”t try and swim but you don’t know how to.look at this sunami.

Joyable

Swimming is fun really fun.If you swim with goggles you

can see lots of interesting things.

Stranded danger.

If you're floating in the sea you can’t really swim a shark could come and bite your legs off.And it might be worth your life.

The silver fern is silver because of how it grows and it represents new zealand.

Why is it a symbol for New Zealanders?

It is a symbol for New Zealanders because I think they are only grown in new zealand.

We also have a new zealand netball team called the silver ferns.

What I learnt about drama

Doing and Learning drama  has been an awesome experience.

we learnt how to do the Diamond, mirror and shadow.

One thing that I've learnt is that drama is not silly but it's still fun.

Cameos fred and his amazing nightime powers

2. How come Fred didn’t groan? because it’s no use he’s blind so its always dark for him.

Cameo's Year five and six Camp

Have you ever slept with your friends at school in a tent??

Well I did it last week  from Wednesday to Friday with the other year 5 & 6’s. It was so cool to sleep at our own school.Those three days were an amazing experience.

On Thursday Me and My group the Caretakers played a cool game called get lost we split up into four groups of four. My group was called the maroon takers. we did the gangnam style on a picnic table, painted our faces, dressed in costumes and we went to Oamaru creek.

On Wednesday I went to go do baking me and the girls in my group made

cheese scones,we made them fast because we had lots of teamwork .

The group after us made chocolate chip cookies I tasted both they were yummy.It was super fun baking with Mrs Jarmen and it was really cool.

My group also had free time so I went on rollerblades for almost the whole time.Then we played just dance the songs were One Direction makes you beautiful and the Gangnam Style.My boy team leader colin was speeding around the breeze.

Kayaking was awesome my friend kept on capsizing.Capsizing means falling off the kayak and the kayak goes upside down.

The fun part was sleeping with two of my friends in a tent.We stayed up almost all night. The most best thing about being at camp was  the activities.

On Friday morning I did just dance with all the other Campers. The songs we did was the gangnam style and classic!!!

On Thursday morning we only did jump jam but I had an amazing time.

Jump jam was funny like just dance on the Gangnam style.Classic was cool.

On Friday after we did just dance we all packed and  everyone went to Mangere pools in three buses It was super cool.

Lots of the kids went into the bombing pool.I went into the deep pool and on the water slide.

My year five and six camp was really now I cant wait to go camping next year.Camp was an amazing experience. I even liked staying at school for two whole nights!!!!!

Camp

My camp has finally started. yesterday I played a cool Game called top towns its and obstacle course.

And that night I had nachos how yum is that and for desert I had vanilla ice cream and sliced peaches.

Top towns is when people have to work as a team.You have to throw the water baloons.

and do more crazy stuff.

I have camp on wednesday me and my friend are really excited.We're going to have so much activities each day.

I also cant wait to hang out with my friends.Because they are exciting.

This is the life cycle of a frog

Oh hi do you want to know the 4 stages of a frogs life cycle? Well you came to the right place.the first stage is spawn then stage two is the tadpole then the froglet becomes an adult frog.

The first stage of a frogs life are the eggs.All of the eggs are gathered in spawn.Spawn is a jelly that sticks the eggs to each other.

The second stage is the tadpole. some tadpoles get eaten by water insects.

they grow back legs.

the frog let stage is up.its body will have all four legs and its tail.Little frog-lets tail will go short and disappear.

An adult frog has got no tail any more.It will live on land

and take a dip when its skin dries out.The frog will now set off and find a boyfriend or girlfriend to lay eggs with.

This is called metamorphosis.
